The Magical Birthday Party Story
Arthur had always loved magic. Ever since he was a little boy, he would read books about wizards and witches, dragons and unicorns, and other fantastical creatures. He would imagine himself as a powerful sorcerer, casting spells and exploring enchanted lands. He would dream of having a magical birthday party, where he could invite all his favorite characters and have a wonderful time.
But as he grew older, he realized that magic was not real. He had to face the harsh realities of life, such as work, bills, and responsibilities. He had to give up his childish fantasies and focus on the practical matters. He had no time for fun or adventure. He had no friends who shared his passion for magic. He felt lonely and bored.
On his 81st birthday, he decided to treat himself to a nice dinner at a fancy restaurant. He put on his best suit and hat, and took a taxi to the place. He ordered a steak and a glass of wine, and tried to enjoy his meal. But he felt out of place among the young and lively crowd. He felt old and tired. He wished he could have a different kind of birthday, one that would make him feel young and happy again.
As he was finishing his dessert, he noticed a strange envelope on his table. It had no stamp or address, only his name written in a fancy script. He opened it and found a card inside. It read:
“Happy birthday, Arthur! You are invited to a magical birthday party at the Dreamland Hotel. Just say the magic word and you will be transported to a world of wonder and delight. Don’t miss this chance to make your dreams come true. Your friend, Merlin.”
Arthur was puzzled and curious. Who was Merlin? How did he know his name and his birthday? What was the Dreamland Hotel? What was the magic word? He looked around, but saw no one who could have left the envelope. He decided to play along and see what would happen. He whispered the magic word that was written on the card: “Abracadabra“.
Suddenly, he felt a strange sensation. He felt lighter and warmer. He felt a gust of wind and a flash of light. He closed his eyes and opened them again. He was no longer in the restaurant. He was in a different place. A magical place.
He was sitting in a large and luxurious room, decorated with colorful banners and streamers. He was in a comfortable and elegant chair, with a table next to him. On the table, there was a huge cake with lit candles and the number “21” on top. Around him, there were dozens of amazing creatures. He saw a winged unicorn with a rainbow mane, a fire-breathing dragon, a golden phoenix, and many more. They were all smiling and cheering. They were all there for him.
He heard a voice behind him. He turned and saw a man with a long beard and a pointed hat. He wore a purple robe and carried a wooden staff. He looked familiar. He looked like Merlin, the legendary wizard.
“Hello, Arthur. Welcome to your magical birthday party. I hope you like it. I’ve been waiting for you for a long time. You see, you are not just an ordinary man. You are a descendant of King Arthur, the once and future king of Camelot. You have a great destiny ahead of you. You have the potential to become a great wizard, like me. I’m here to teach you and guide you. But first, let’s have some fun. It’s your birthday, after all. Make a wish and blow out the candles. Anything you wish for will come true. Trust me, this is not a dream. This is real. This is magic.”
Arthur was speechless. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. He couldn’t believe what he was feeling. He felt a surge of joy and excitement. He felt a spark of magic. He felt alive.
He looked at the cake and the candles. He looked at the unicorn and the dragon. He looked at Merlin and the other creatures. He looked at himself and his hat. He smiled and made a wish. He wished for more magic. He wished for more adventure. He wished for more happiness. He wished for more life.
He blew out the candles. And his wish came true.
A Birthday Wish Poem
I wish I could have a birthday
Like the one in the picture
With magic and wonder
And creatures of splendor
I wish I could have a birthday
With a cake and candles
And a unicorn and a dragon
And a phoenix and a lantern
I wish I could have a birthday
With a wizard and a hat
And a chair and a table
And a balloon and a present
I wish I could have a birthday
That would make me feel young
And happy and free
And alive and me
I wish I could have a birthday
That would make my dreams come true
But I know it’s just a fantasy
So I’ll keep it in my heart
